Thomas “Tiny” Lister Jr. is best known as an American Character Actor and Professional Wrestler. Lister was born in Compton, California, on June 24, 1958. Lister was born blind in his right eye due to a damaged and deformed retina. He avoided the criminal gang life in Compton by having an interest in films and religion instead. Actor and Wrestler popular for his roles as the neighborhood bulldozer Deebo in Friday's film and its sequel, and as President Lindberg in The Fifth Element. He had two short professional wrestling stints, wrestling with Hulk Hogan in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) after appearing as Zeus in the 1989 film No Holds Barred and resuming the feud as Z-Gangsta in 1996 for the Wrestling World Championship (WCW).

Tom Lister Jr. Acting Career

Lister is best known as Deebo in Friday. Deebo was a barrister and adversary to the character of Ice Cube, Craig Jones. He took part in the film's sequel, Next Friday, but did not feature in the third film of the series, Friday After Next. Nevertheless, he starred in Cube's debut manager, The Players Club. He also played Obodo's part in Mario Van Peeble's “Posse” (1993). Lister has had several guest roles on TV shows, including Klaang, the first Klingon ever to make contact with humans, in the Star Trek: Enterprise pilot episode. He stared in a two-part episode of the Matlock courtroom show as Mr. Matlock's bodyguard in jail. He also appeared in season 7 episode 09 of “The Heat of the Night.”

Lister's film appearances include becoming a prisoner in The Dark Knight, Austin Powers in Goldmember, and The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence). Lister was named President of the Galactic in The Fifth Element. He appeared as Nicky's older brother Cassius in the Adam Sandler movie Little Nicky.

Lister was the main police officer in Chamillionaire's “Ridin'” video and took up his role as a police officer in Chamillionaire's 2012 single Show Love. He also appeared in the Ice Cube videos for “Friday” (from the Friday soundtrack) and “You Can Do It” (from the Next Friday soundtrack). Lister appeared in both the original footage and the film clips of the film. He was also in the videos of Young Bleed's “How You Do Dat;” French Montana's “I Told 'Em” and 50 Cent's “Many Men (Wish Death).” Lister also depicted Sancho in the Majestic “Santeria” music video.

In the Quentin Tarantino movie Jackie Brown, he played bail agent Winston, who “finds people who don't want to be found.” In 2015, Lister was filming Busy Day in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The film was produced by Tamás Nádas. In the 2016 Disney animated film Zootopia, Lister played a supporting role as the voice of the diminutive fennec fox, Finnick. He also featured in a advertisement that year for Ball Park-brand beef jerky, marketed as “tough but tender.”
