There’s been a lot of ups and downs in Ronnie Ortiz-Magro‘s life this past year. From a drama-filled relationship with Jen Harley to entering rehab for alcohol abuse and depression, the Jersey Shore star has a lot on his plate. He Was Looking To Improve Himself.
“If I’m not taking care of myself, I can’t take care of my daughter. I can’t take care of my family. That’s something that I’ve always thrived off of,” the 33-year-old explained to Us Weekly.

A Tiny Girl With A Big Impact.
He gushed, “That little girl is like my guardian angel. I say to this day, she saved my life. I think, without her, I don’t think I would’ve taken this step, because what would I have to lose?”

Rehab Was The Answer.
The MTV star spent a month at HeadWaters at Origins treatment center in Florida working through his personal battles.

His Daughter Is Watching.
“I’m a father. I’m a role model. I have to remember that. She’s getting older. She’s not getting younger. She’s getting older, and she’s getting smarter and smarter,” the Jersey Shore alum admitted.

Honesty Is The Best Policy.
He even noted that one day he would like to share this experience with her.

He Wants To Have A Special Bond.
His reason for wanting to be so open with Ariana is simple. “I feel like it’s something that she needs to know. I’m going to be very open with her when she grows up. I want us to have that friendship.”

It’s All About The Big Picture.
He continued, “I want her to be able to come talk to me. Also a reason why I did this [was] because I want to be able to listen to people and be able to not react. I want her to be like, ‘OK, well I can talk to my father about this. I can tell him this without him getting crazy like most dads do.’ I pray that we do have that bond when she gets older.”

As For His Baby Mama …
“She’s always going to be the mother of my child, at the end of the day,” the reality stud said about his chaotic relationship with Jen. “All I can do is control myself. I can’t control her.”

It Got Messier.
After that, two more brutal social media fights broke out. It started when the newly-minted father seemingly blamed the Instagram model for giving him a black eye. Then, he accused her of trying to extort him.

He Apologized.
After the episode aired, the Famously Single alum took to Instagram to deny claims that he was unfaithful. “I just wanted to [apologize] to my family for putting myself in such a bad position in last week’s episode,” he captioned a photo of Jen and Ariana.

He’s Got Nothing But Love.
He elaborated, “Here’s a repost stating I love them more than anything and the editing [made] it worse than it seems. I promise there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. I wouldn’t do anything to hurt either of them. I love you both.”
