She is the daughter of Anne-Mari (Nel) and Bennie Peters. She is married to American professional football and baseball player Tim Tebow.
Demi-Leigh’s maternal grandfather was Willem Andries Nel (the son of Willem Andries Nel and Andrea Stefina Viljoen). Demi-Leigh’s grandfather Willem was born in Orange Free State (now Free State). Demi-Leigh’s great-grandfather Willem was the son of Willem Andries Nel, who was killed during the Second Boer War, and of Anna Helena Louisa Potgieter.
Demi-Leigh’s maternal grandmother was Beatrice Mulder (the daughter of Jacobus Munro Mulder and Alberta Maria Streso). Beatrice was born in Port Elizabeth, Cape Province, now Eastern Cape Province. Alberta was the daughter of Pieter Anthonie Streso and Petronella Gertruida Neveling. Pieter’s paternal great-great-grandfather, Andriy Strezov (later Andreas Stresau/Stresow), was a Ukrainian soldier, from Berlyn, Lviv Oblast.
